MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) is a regulation used by the European Union to supervise and manage measuring instruments, and its full name is the "Measuring Instruments Directive". This directive was issued in 2014, numbered 2014/32/EU, and came into effect in April 2016, replacing the original 2004/22/EC directive
The main purpose of the MID directive is to establish a single market for measuring instruments for manufacturers, allowing their products to circulate freely throughout the EU market after obtaining a certificate
Scope and Mode of MID Certification
The MID instruction covers a variety of measuring instruments, including water meters, gas meters, electricity meters, heat meters, automatic weighing equipment, meters, material measuring instruments, space measuring instruments, exhaust analysis instruments, and charging station meters
There are various modes of MID certification, including Mode A (DoC based on internal production management), Mode B (type inspection by designated institutions), Mode C (DoC based on internal production management), Mode D (DoC based on QA production process), and Mode E (DoC based on QA final product inspection and testing)
