ISO9000 does not refer to a single standard, but rather a collective term for a set of standards. The ISO 9000 family of standards refers to all international standards developed by ISO/TC176. TC176 is the 176th technical committee in ISO, responsible for developing standards for quality management and quality assurance technology. ISO/TC176 proposed the "Implementation Strategy for International Quality Standards in the 1990s" at the 9th Annual Meeting in 1990, which revised the 1987 version of the ISO9000 family of standards in two stages: the first stage was completed in 1994, and the second stage was completed in 2000. The 1994 version of ISO9000 standard has been adopted for many years, and three quality assurance standards are commonly used for external certification. On December 15, 2000, the 2000 version of the ISO9000 family of standards was officially released and implemented. There are four core standards in the 2000 version of the ISO9000 family of international standards.
