1、 How to determine whether a product needs CE certification?
The CE marking is only applicable to the product items covered by the directive. If the product is not regulated by the EU directive, the CE marking is not required.
Some directives list excluded products, while others do not mention whether CE marking will be applicable in the future. If your product falls within the scope of the above directives, you need to consider CE marking and perform necessary testing and approval, as well as prepare relevant documents.
(1) Under what circumstances can a product be marked with the CE mark?
Products falling within the scope of the NLF 22 directives and most products falling within the New Approach directives can be marked with the CE mark if they meet the following conditions.
Compliant with all applicable directives;
① Meets all applicable coordination standards for each instruction.
② Test reports and COC certificates are available for inspection at any time.
③ There is a DOC declaration file (Declaration of Conformity).
(2) CE certification process
① The applicant company shall fill out the "Application Form for Testing and Certification" and provide the basic instructions and technical conditions of the products required in the form.
② After the application form and materials are confirmed by the laboratory, a testing plan is proposed based on the product conditions, which includes testing items, compliance with the qualification criteria, and the general testing period. And provide a quotation for the product. After the enterprise approves the testing plan and testing fees, sign the contract.
③ After receiving the samples and relevant information, the laboratory began testing.
④ After the test is completed, a test report will be issued. Simultaneously review relevant materials.
⑤ After testing and confirming that there are no issues with the data, review the TCF.
⑥ If the test results are not qualified, notify the enterprise to carry out rectification.
⑦ After passing the inspection and TCF, corresponding inspection reports and CE certification certificates will be issued.
(3) Technical documents prepared for CE certification
① Product manual
② Product differentiation explanation, in the case of multiple models in the same series
③ Mechanical structure diagram (product assembly diagram)
④ Product circuit diagram (electrical schematic, wiring diagram) Product nameplate
